Self-described as Dance with lots of words, Howie B. comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. While no new Howie B. album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in Europe. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Howie B.’s album Turn the Dark Off falls to No. 2 with 858,000, a sales slide of 94%. Turn the Dark Off - another great offering from Howie B..
Hopscotch - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Switch is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Sore Brown Eyes is a strong cut, one of many. Limbo is worth the money. Angels Go Bald: Too is nothing but pure genius. Who’s Got The Bacon? is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Turn the Dark Off have ended. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Turn the Dark Off. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
