nine years ago, Jackson Browne briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “These Days”. Jackson Browne’s debut, ‘Next Voice You Hear: The Best of Jackson Browne’, does not fit easily into one genre. This disc has all of the essential Jackson Browne classics. These Days is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. Fountian Of Sorrow is gorgeous song though, very addictive. The opening track Late For The Sky is very much like you would expect from other albums. The Pretender is one of the best records ever. Running On Empty without a doubt is the standout song of Next Voice You Hear: The Best of Jackson Browne. In Call It A Loan you won’t find any flashy solos. Somebody’s Baby is simply perfect. Tender Is The Night - To me, this is the best song on the Next Voice You Hear: The Best of Jackson Browne. In The Shape Of A Heart - My least favorite song on this album. Lives In The Balance - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Charming song, great melody. The Barricades Of Heaven is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. The Rebel Jesus is a fine track on any terms. The Next Voice You Hear is new, fresh, and hypnotizing.
