After debuting at No. 1 last week, Marilyn Monroe’s album Golden Hits falls to No. 2 with 801,000, a sales slide of 71%. Golden Hits is not something you should pass up.
Although Bye Bye Baby is very melodic it is far from sad. In Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend you won’t find any flashy solos. Lazy great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. In Kiss full palet of sound is used by Marilyn Monroe to accentuate the presentation. In When Love Goes Wrong Marilyn Monroe spins a tale you want to hear to the end. I’m Through With Love is the more seemingly obscure song on Golden Hits that bear up best to repeated listening. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Golden Hits. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Golden Hits. You’d Be Surprised defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. After you’ve listened to The River Of No Return, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. One Silver Dollar is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. This song stands out greatly from the others.
