After seeing Salve Virgo Virginum, I had to have a good Mediaeval Baebes CD. IF YOU LIKE ALL Mediaeval Baebes’S SONG GO FOR IT! On Salva Nos album, Mediaeval Baebes have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Salva Nos is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Now Springes The Spray - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Ah Si Mon Moine is the song that really did it for me. I listened to the opening track Adam Lay Ibounden and liked it a lot. Foweles In The Frith is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. So Treiben Wir Den Winter Aus - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. The Coventry Carol marked the continuation of Mediaeval Baebes in style evolution. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Adult Lullaby is Mediaeval Baebes’s best work in years. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Salva Nos is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This track is full of harmonies and gets Salva Nos off to a relaxing start. Lo, Here My Hert is the more seemingly obscure song on Salva Nos that bear up best to repeated listening. Only one song from Salva Nos named Binnorie O Binnorie really got me. This Ay Nicht is such a astounding and optimistic song that things can get just better. Salva Nos couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Miri It Is.
