Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Trance - Various Artists on ‘Thoughts (Altered State)’. Since completing 1997’s ‘Thoughts (Altered State)’, Trance - Various Artists fulfilled their contract with American Music Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been eight years Trance - Various Artists’ last studio CD, “Altered State - In The Mix” which won Los Premios MTV Latinoam?rica and was nominated for album of the year. It is very deep stuff.
Magnetic Field (Analogue Silence) is another strong production from Trance - Various Artists. House On Fire (Arkana) on Altered State - In The Mix is solid and easy to listen to. D_R_O_P_ (Ascendence) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. The Gloom (Castle Trancelott) is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Offshore (Chicane) is a strong cut, one of many. In Dream (Clockwork) you won’t find any flashy solos. Man In The Moon (Csilla) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. 22 (D Saw) hits the heart. Inner City Life (Goldie) - A classic Trance - Various Artists track. Trance - Various Artists is hitting on all cylinders in Transmutation (L S G). Hot Knives (Nem Cru) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Ballistique (Nunca) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. I’ve found myself listening to Sacred Cycles (Peter Lazonby) back to back and back many times. Geomantik (Prana) is the funkiest number on the album. Fable (Robert Miles) is outstanding work of Trance - Various Artists. Blew our minds when we first heard For Us (Robert Miles). Album opener Red Dragon (SEM) is a bright, upbeat ditty. Pearl_s Girl (Underworld) is possibly the best song Trance - Various Artists has come up.
