After seeing Dastgah Of Homayoun (Hassan Kassayi), I had to have a good Ethnic - Various Artists CD. I guess you need to listen V.A. - (1997) Sufi Soul - Echos Du Paradis CD1 as soon as possible. Self-described as Ethnic with lots of words, Ethnic - Various Artists comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. V.A. - (1997) Sufi Soul - Echos Du Paradis CD1 album is a scorcher!
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Dastgah Of Shour (Khatereh Parvaneh) is my favorite song on V.A. - (1997) Sufi Soul - Echos Du Paradis CD1. Devonah Shaw (Davlatmand) is probably the most interesting track on V.A. - (1997) Sufi Soul - Echos Du Paradis CD1. He Has Not Come (Munadjat Yultchieva) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Sheikh Ahmad-E-Jvm (Mohammad Rahim Khushnawaz) is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Ethnic - Various Artists rocks harder than ever with Fangara Fangarii (Maalem Si Mohamed Chaouqi). Durnalar Sema’i (Ashik Myslim Sambil) - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. I like the idea behind Kafi Of Shah Abdul Latif-Rag Lorrao (Sohrab Fakir). I have all of Ethnic - Various Artists’s tracks and Haqq Ali Ali (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) is probably the most his introspective effort.
