While no new Folk - Various Artists album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in Australia. On the Slovakia charts, superstar Folk - Various Artists’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Since Folk - Various Artists last CD (A Celtic Bagpipe Collection - Piping Hot) on Compass Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. Folk - Various Artists “A Celtic Bagpipe Collection - Piping Hot” is an amazing album.
Larry Redican’s Hornpipe - The Green Banner (O’Sullivan, Jerry) is beautiful, yet underrated track. Onward Blindly Onward (Rare Air) - My least favorite song on this album. Blackbirds and Thrushes (Connolly, Matty) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Sean Reid’s - Toss the Feathers (Moloney, Mick & Joe McKenna) - A classic Folk - Various Artists track. Grimstock (House Band) (3:22) a good melody. Clueless (Wolfstone) gives taste of what makes Folk - Various Artists special as a musician. In Brian O’Lynn - The Woods of Old Limerick (Street, Patrick) the music gets its power. If you are a Folk - Various Artists fan, you will love The Rainy Day - The Merry Blacksmith - The Silver Spear (Ennis, Siamus). Folk - Various Artists emotions are reflected through The Bells of Tipperary - Miss Galvin’s (Burke, Joe et al.). The Dear Irish Boy - The Stone in the Field (Reck, Tommy) - Folk - Various Artists first major hit. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Kintail (Tannahill Weavers) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit.
