For older fans Celtic Crossroads will put a massive smile accross your face. Celtic Crossroads really suprise for me from John Whelan. two years ago, John Whelan briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Hornpipes- Beautiful Blackwater, Maggie K’s”. Celtic Crossroads album is in perfect progression from John Whelan!
Hornpipes- Beautiful Blackwater, Maggie K’s is simple, dignified and effective, John Whelan refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. You have to get essence of the Champs Elysees’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Still going through Celtic Crossroads and coming to appreciate Grosse Lle more and more with every listen.
