After debuting at No. 1 last week, Megadeth’s album Cryptic Writings falls to No. 2 with 524,000, a sales slide of 84%. Cryptic Writings is the best album I have heard in a long time
Almost Honest is probably the highlight of the album. I can’t stop playing Use The Man. Mastermind is simple, dignified and effective, Megadeth refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. The Disintegrators one is one of the better boring ones. I’ll Get Even is one of my favorite songs by Megadeth. Sin motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Megadeth rocks harder than ever with A Secret Place. Have Cool, Will Travel is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Cryptic Writings. Opening track She-Wolf shows the best of Megadeth. Vortex is one of the more up-tempo songs on Cryptic Writings. Although Fff is very melodic it is far from sad.
