Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Noir Desir comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Noir Desir’s new album to that on ‘Live Zenith Paris (cd1)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since completing 1997’s ‘Back to you’, Noir Desir fulfilled their contract with Authentic Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Live Zenith Paris (cd1) is my first Noir Desir Album and i must say i am blown away.
Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Lolita nie en bloc. I now have One trip one noise as one of my personal favorites. Only one song from Live Zenith Paris (cd1) named Pyromane really got me. Prayer for a wanker is the more seemingly obscure song on Live Zenith Paris (cd1) that bear up best to repeated listening. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Un jour en france is simple, dignified and effective, Noir Desir refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Le fleuve is simply exquisite. Les persiennes is one of the more up-tempo songs on Live Zenith Paris (cd1). It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Septembre en attendant is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Tostaky (5:01) a good melody.
