It has been three years Mireille Mathieu’ last studio CD, “Mes Plus Belles Chansons D’Amour” which won American Music Award and was nominated for album of the year. While no new Mireille Mathieu album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in Australia. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Mireille Mathieu energies, virtually a rebirth. Mes Plus Belles Chansons D’Amour constantly brilliant.
Santa Maria De La Mer which is my favorite is a truly Mireille Mathieu sounding song. Best song on the album, love it. Acropolis Adieu - This one is lively and fun. After few listenings I started to like Comme Avant more and more. Et Je T’aime is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. The sound in Il A Neige Sur Mykonos is really warm and Mireille Mathieu’s signature voice is still very much present. This song is dynamic and dramatic. La Paloma Revient is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. I came to like Tu N’as Pas Quitte Mon Coeur. Some call Une Femme Amoureuse from Mes Plus Belles Chansons D’Amour as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Je T’aime Avec Ma Peau - My least favorite song on this album.
