It has been five years Ric Ocasek’ last studio CD, “This Side of Paradise” which won ARIA Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This Side of Paradise really suprise for me from Ric Ocasek. On This Side of Paradise album, Ric Ocasek have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. IT makes me wanna dance!
True To You - Check out that bassline! Emotion In Motion - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Look In Your Eyes is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Ric Ocasek released so far. Coming For You - A nice song. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in This Side of Paradise. True Love is a very catchy tune. Don’t judge P.F.J. on the first listening. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This Side Of Paradise is possibly the best song Ric Ocasek has come up.
