Since completing 1997’s ‘I Melt with You (Good Riddance)’, Rock - Various Artists fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been five years Rock - Various Artists’ last studio CD, “Before You Were Punk” which won Canadian Country Music Association and was nominated for album of the year. There were many famous songs of Rock - Various Artists available. Before You Were Punk constantly brilliant.
Rock - Various Artists allows each song to breathe and flourish. In Between Days (Face to Face) I just LOVE this mix! Happy Loving Couples (Guttermouth) gives taste of what makes Rock - Various Artists special as a musician. Such hits like Pretty in Pink (Automatic 7) will leave you hooked. I now have Goody Two Shoes (Unwritten Law) as one of my personal favorites. Dancing With Myself (Blink-182) is beautiful, yet underrated track. A great put together song. Peace, Love & Understanding (Down By Law) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Walking in LA (Hagfish) is really the reason why I recommend buying Before You Were Punk. Young Turks (Jughead’s Revenge) gives good insight into the truths. 867-5309, Jenny (Bracket) - arguably the best track on Before You Were Punk album.
