nine years ago, Santana Band briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “A Million Miles Away”. Since Santana Band last CD (Abraxas Pool) on Caff Records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. Abraxas Pool CD - one of the best in Jazz: Jazz-Rock. Unappreciated gift to Jazz: Jazz-Rock
A Million Miles Away - For me, this is the best of the album. Some call Baila Mi Cha Cha from Abraxas Pool as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. In Waiting For You Santana Band is at his best. Santana Band allows each song to breathe and flourish. In Szabo full palet of sound is used by Santana Band to accentuate the presentation. Guajirona - This one is lively and fun. Cruzin’ one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Don’t Give Up - This is a very lively song. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I like the idea behind Jingo.
