Lead single “Willow Weep For Me” and “I Cover The Waterfront” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Great album The Complete Capitol Recordings Of Art Tatum CD 1 - just must listen it! The Art Tatum had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. The Complete Capitol Recordings Of Art Tatum CD 1 is my first The Art Tatum Album and i must say i am blown away.
I Cover The Waterfront is worth the money. A unique and uplifting song. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Someone to Watch Over Me is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Dardanella one is one of the better boring ones. Time On My Hands is a striking and quite long song. Sweet Lorraine gets you up and jumping. Somebody Loves Me is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Don’t Blame Me very upbeat. My Heart Stood Still has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets The Art Tatum’s strong vocals come to the fore. The sound in You Took Advantage Of Me is really warm and The Art Tatum’s signature voice is still very much present. I Gotta Right to Sing The Blues is probably one of The Art Tatum’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Overall a nice softer song. Promotional Interview - This one makes me want to not only sing along.
