Albert Collins - Essential Texas Blues (Disk 1 of 2) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Albert Collins - Essential Texas Blues (Disk 1 of 2) CD - one of the best in Blues. This is one of the best Cd’s Blues - Various Artists has dropped to date. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Albert Collins - Essential Texas Blues (Disk 1 of 2).
Changing Neighborhoods (Anson Funderburg and the Rockets (featuring Sam Myers)) is a very catchy tune. Once Kidney Stew Blues (Eddie Vinson) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Love Her With a Feeling (Freddie King). Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Within the first few notes of Everybody Wants a Piece of Me (Johnny Copeland) it’s perfectly clear that Blues - Various Artists is living this song. Baby Please Don’t Lie To Me (Kim Wilson) is outstanding work of Blues - Various Artists. Nasty Ways (Long John Hunter) gives taste of what makes Blues - Various Artists special as a musician. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Stop These Teardrops (Lou Ann Barton) from the beginning to the end. I find myself hearing bits of The Cows (Robert Shaw) here and there throughout my waking hours. In Little School Girl (Smokey Hogg) Blues - Various Artists spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Comin’ Home Today (Smokin’ Joe Kubek) is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. I Want a Little Girl (T-Bone Walker) I just LOVE this mix! Why Don’t You Eat Where You Slept Last Night? (Zuzu Bollin) which is my favorite is a truly Blues - Various Artists sounding song.
