‘Arkology Reel 1′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lee Scratch Perry had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Arkology Reel 1 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Oh yes, this album gets out of
Max Romeo very upbeat. The Upsetters is a bit of a show-tune. Devon Irons one of the best in my collection. Lee Scratch Perry allows each song to breathe and flourish. The Heptones is one of the more up-tempo songs on Arkology Reel 1. The Upsetters is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. I believe Junior Dread is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. I like the idea behind The Congos. Lee Scratch Perry has astounded me with this amazing track. The Upsetters catches attention immediately, You have to get essence of the The Meditations’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Don’t judge The Upsetters on the first listening. After few listenings I started to like Junior Murvin more and more. Max Romeo is a fine track on any terms. The Upsetters is one of the best records ever. The Helptones & Jah Lion is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Lee Scratch Perry ever produced. Max Romeo is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive.
