Now signed to Mark Hummel’s Bamahang Productions, the title track from second album “Heart of Chicago” leads Mark Hummel’s back-to-school campaign. Since completing 1997’s ‘But I Forgive You’, Mark Hummel fulfilled their contract with Bamahang Productions and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been fifteen years Mark Hummel’ last studio CD, “Heart of Chicago” which won Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Heart of Chicago is not something you should pass up.
This is probably my favorite song on the album. I like the idea behind I Want Your Love. Living with the Blues is the first taste of the new album. Lost a Good Man is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Heart of Chicago. Love Shock is astounding. My Kind of Baby is worth the money. Out on a Limb - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Peaches Tree is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Ready for Eddie. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Rockin’ at the Riverside. Heart of Chicago couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Rollin’ from Side to Side. Such hits like Step Back Baby will leave you hooked. Tryin’ to Make a Living without a doubt is the standout song of Heart of Chicago.
