This album has some very good songs like Koto and Shamisen. This is the first studio album from Sri Chinmoy since bad diagnosis in 1997. This is one of the best Cd’s Sri Chinmoy has dropped to date. My Japanese Heart-Melodies is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Vocals of Sri Chinmoy in Shamisen really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Japanese Drums is the first taste of the new album. Nice and different song. Koto - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Drums is cool work of Sri Chinmoy. Flute has a fun tempo. Sri Chinmoy is hitting on all cylinders in Koto. Shamisen pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. My Japanese Heart-Melodies couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Flute. Koto is the albums biggest surprise. Shamisen is just simply stunning. Drums is a song to enjoy for years to come. Flute - Check out that bassline! Koto is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Shamisen very upbeat. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on My Japanese Heart-Melodies. So much energy, so exciting a sound.
