Lead single “Pearl_s Girl (Underworld)” and “Red Dragon (SEM)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. On Chicane - In The Mix album, Trance - Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new Trance - Various Artists album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in South America. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Chicane - In The Mix.
This is one hell of a track. A unique and uplifting song. Fable (Robert Miles) (3:59) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. I hope to keep hearing Trance - Various Artists works for a long time to come. The song feels complete. Ballistique (Nunca) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Hot Knives (Nem Cru) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Transmutation (L S G) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. 22 (D Saw) is a very catchy tune. Inner City Life (Goldie) is pretty funky and mellow. Music in Man In The Moon (Csilla) is cool as in all tracks of Chicane - In The Mix. Dream (Clockwork) is simply gorgeous. Offshore (Chicane) is one of these floating songs. I like the idea behind The Gloom (Castle Trancelott). It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. First time I heard House On Fire (Arkana) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Magnetic Field (Analogue Silence) is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely.
