Since completing 1997’s ‘Sonata op. 9 cz. I’, Waldemar Malicki fulfilled their contract with Big Scary Monsters Recording Company and where under no obligation to release another album. seven years ago, Waldemar Malicki briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Sonata op. 9 cz. II”. Waldemar Malicki was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Waldemar Malicki and Utwory na skrzypce i fortepian together. Utwory na skrzypce i fortepian is my first Waldemar Malicki Album and i must say i am blown away.
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Sonata op. 9 cz. II, which shows, blatantly, how much Waldemar Malicki has evolved as a singer. Sonata op. 9 cz. III can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Waldemar Malicki is all about. Get Utwory na skrzypce i fortepian and turn on Romans op. 23 if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Nokturn op. 28 is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Tarantela - Check out that bassline! Mity, trzy poematy op. 30 - Zdrodlo Aretuzy is amazing song though, very addictive. Mity, trzy poematy op. 30 - Narcyz presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Utwory na skrzypce i fortepian. In Mity, trzy poematy op. 30 - Driady i Pan it becomes nowhere more obvious that Waldemar Malicki has yet to define own style. Koiysanka op.52 - La Berceuse d’Aitacho Enia is simply marvelous.
